Pedestrian Hit, Killed on Interstate 20
A pedestrian who was walking across I-20 westbound Wednesday died after being hit by three vehicles.
A pedestrian died Wednesday after being struck by three vehicles on I-20 westbound, according to the highway patrol.
Troopers say the pedestrian was walking in the second lane on I-20 west between Farrow Road and U.S. 21 when the incident happened.
Three vehicles were traveling close behind each other on the interstate, troopers say. The first vehicle, driven by Kimberly Wiggins, 48, struck the pedestrian.
A second vehicle, driven by Cheryl Livavdais, 63, also struck the pedestrian, followed by a third car, driven by Tensha Wells, 35, troopers say.
Wells was transported to Palmetto Health Baptist, troopers say. The other drivers and passengers were not injured.
The coroner has not yet released the name of the pedestrian.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
