Thai Lotus Closes, Chef's Store to Open in St. Andrews

A roundup of businesses opening and closing in the Irmo-Seven Oaks, Harbison and St. Andrews areas.

Thai Lotus, a restaurant that served Thai and Southeast Asian cuisine, recently closed its St. Andrews Road location. No notice was given for why Thai Lotus, which was located in the Ashland Park Shopping Center, had closed. 

While one business closed, another one is expecting to open. 

The US Foods' Chef's Store — a wholesale restaurant food, equipment and supply store — is set to open this year.

Sprouts

The opening dates for several businesses in the Harbison area have been released.

Patch confirmed the grand opening for Ulta Beauty is scheduled for May 10. This is the second location the beauty supply store will open in the Columbia area. The first store is located in Northeast Columbia at The Village at Sandhill. 

The Harbison store is located in the new shopping center that was built near the intersection of Harbison Boulevard and Park Terrace Drive, behind McDonald's and Firestone. 

Other stores opening in the 70,000-square-foot space include Designer Shoes Warehouse (DSW) and Home Goods.

DSW, which offers footwear for women, men and kids at "everyday value prices in a convenient assisted self-select shopping environment", is set to open May 2, according to a report from The State.

Home Goods, a home decor and furniture store, will open June 23, according to the report. This is the second located in Columbia, with the first one located at The Village at Sandhill. 

Staples has already moved into the space between Home Goods and DSW from its old location behind the shopping center. 

Other businesses that recently opened near Irmo include Wing Nuts and Bojangles

Rioz Brazilian Steakhouse is scheduled to open this summer.

    Shutters

    The Big Kmart on St. Andrews Road near Irmo is scheduled to close May 17, a store employee said. 

    .

    Moving

    Consignment 1st located on Park Terrace Drive in the Harbison area next to the old Staples location is moving to a new location in Irmo. No date has been set, but a store employee said they're aiming for June. The store is having a moving sale. Visit the store's website here
