As Richland County fights against gang violence, the presence of established gangs is still noted in St. Andrews. A recent Crimestoppers notice urged people to be on the lookout for an alleged gang member from the Felony Lane Gang.
But which gangs are prevalent in Richland County? This list was compiled by several online sources, reports and databases.
Hells Angels: In July, 19 people were arrested in connection with gang crimes out of South Carolina. These people all identified themselves as members of the Hells Angels motorcycle gang. They actively identify themselves in Greenville with this website, but the site for the official chapters of Hells Angels is down.
Crips: Crips also originated in California, but can be found in most major cities. Their color is blue. One report said that the Crips were also the smallest gang in South Carolina, outnumbered 3 to 1.
Felony Lane Gang: Members of the Felony Lane Gang have travelled throughout the Southeast. One man is currently wanted in connection to several Lexington County crimes.
The following gangs were listed as prison gangs in South Carolina: 18th Street, Asian Boyz, Black Gangster Disciples, Black Mafia, Bloods, Crips, Five Percenters, La Raza, Latin Kings, Mexican Mafia, Nortenos, Tiny Rascal Gang and Young Guns.
