Wine to Benefit USC Baseball, Golf Programs

The wine collection will commemorate the Gamecocks back-to-back National Championship wins.

Just one day before the USC Gamecocks open their baseball season, the school announced a series of wine to commemorate the programs accomplishments.

Commemorating Gamecock baseball’s historic back-to-back National Championships in 2010 and 2011, a two-bottle wine collection will be available April 1 at wine retailers throughout South Carolina.

The Ray Tanner Series is being distributed by Southern Wine and Spirits with proceeds benefiting the University of South Carolina baseball and golf programs.

“We are honored to once again recognize outstanding achievements by Gamecock sports teams,” said Southern Wine and Spirits VP/GM Tom Collins.

“These wines honor the two incredible National Championships as well as benefit the baseball and golf programs.”

A list of participating retailers and their locations will be available at www.GamecocksOnline.com in March.

Wow only in this backward state would you use a college to market WINE or all things I guess it isn't enough losing our children to drugs and alcohol the state encourages it. This is just insanity at its best. Our Athletes that we have all worked hard to discourge drugs and alcohol, who in the world lets this nonsense go on. Geesh this state is nothing but trash.

actually, this benefits student athletes in non-revenue sports. Believe me, nobody would be upset if you went back to Ohio.

I think this is a great idea!!! These wines will be hot sellers - and will beat any bake sale or candy bar type of fundraiser, for sure.
