Is Bobby Jindal Wooing Tim Scott?

Scott already getting attention of possible 2016 candidates.

CNN's Peter Hamby reported on Friday that Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is hosting a fundraiser in New Orleans for Sen. Tim Scott this afternoon.

Scott was in New Orleans to speak at a conference. An invitee to the fundraiser had to contribute a minimum of $1,000 to attend.

Yesterday Hamby reported that Jindal will be among three governors to attend a fundraiser for Nikki Haley in Greenville later this month.

Jindal's courting of Scott, wildly popular here in South Carolina, is another sign of Jindal's interest in pursuing the White House in 2016.

Though he was still a congressman in the 2012 cycle, Scott was an influential figure in the South Carolina primary, hosting several town halls with the candidates. Scott never endorsed a candidate. Nevertheless, his backing will be enormously sought after as the 2016 race for the presidency kicks into full gear.
