Rep. Mike Anthony To Announce Candidacy for Superintendent of Education

Rep. Mike Anthony (D - Union) has announced his intention to run for Superintendent of Education. The former teacher and football coach is the fourth Democrat to announce a statewide candidacy. Vincent Sheheen is running for Governor, Jay Stamper is challenging Sen. Lindsey Graham and Rep. Bakari Sellers has announced plans to explore a candidacy for Lieutenant Governor.

Should Anthony win the nomination he'll likely face Mick Zais, who was elected as Superintendent of Education in 2010.
