Average S.C. SAT Scores Down, AP Scores Up
South Carolina students averaged 7 points lower in 2010-2011 than previous year
The average SAT score for South Carolina students dropped last year while average scores on Advance Placement tests improved. The average score for S.C. seniors in public, private and homeschool settings was 1436 last year, down 7 points from the previous year, according to figures released Wednesday by the state and the College Board. The average score by subject was 482 in reading, 490 in math, and 464 in writing. The national average scores were 497, 514, and 489, respectively.
