Norrisha Victrum was one of 24 players selected for the all-star teams.
Columbia High senior Norrisha Victrum played on the winning team in the North-South game in Myrtle Beach in March. The 5-foot-5 point guard played for the North team, which won 93-46 against the South team. Victrum scored the most during the game, with 13 points and 5 assists, according to Sports Talk Radio Network. She was also named to South Carolina Basketball Association's 2012 AA All-State Girls Basketball Team for the second year in a row. Victrum is committed to Marshall University in West Virginia.

After four seasons as head coach, Darrin Horn has been released by the Gamecocks with three years left on his contract.
From the University of South Carolina Athletics Media Relations University of South Carolina Athletics Director Eric Hyman announced today that men’s basketball coach Darrin Horn has been released from his duties after four seasons as head coach. Carolina finished the 2011-12 season with a 10-21 record and finished last in the Southeastern Conference with a 2-14 mark. “This was a very difficult decision,” said Hyman. “Darrin has done a good job in areas in which we place great value. Columbia High women's basketball team started strong but ended up losing to Bishop England 43-41.
Despite leading throughout the whole game, the Columbia High lady Capitals came short of winning the state championship title as they fell behind in the last couple minutes of play. The Capitals had the 41-40 lead towards the end of the fourth quarter but were not able to score any points after that. Bishop England took the 42-41 lead with a little more than one minute left on the clock, and ended up winning 43-41. It is the first time the lady Battling Bishops won the state championship and the first time in history that a team won undefeated. They finished the season with a 28-0 record. The girls basketball team will play Bishop England Saturday.
Columbia High girls basketball coach Bobby Young and two of his players met with their soon-to-be opponent Bishop England for a press conference Monday morning. The coaches and players were at the South Carolina High School League offices in Columbia to talk about their journeys to the state championship. The Columbia High women's team (23-4) will face Bishop England (27-0) at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Colonial Center in Columbia.

Update, 12:11 p.m. Friday: Thirty people must sign up to ride on the bus by 3 p.m. Friday. If not, the bus will be cancelled. The team is playing for the Upper State title against Keenan High School at 2 p.m. at the Bi-Lo Center. The bus will leave from Columbia High School between 10:30 and 11 a.m. Saturday. The Captials will take on the Saluda High School Tigers at 7 p.m. Friday.
