The man in these surveillance photos is wanted for burglary.
Richland County deputies are searching for a man they say stole a cash register from a liquor store on River Drive. Surveillance cameras show a man inside Sligh's ABC Package Store at 3704 River Drive around 1:30 a.m. May 4 taking the cash register. Deputies say the man broke the glass in the front door of the store. He was possibly driving a newer-model, light blue or gray Nissan Altima 4S, according to the sheriff's department. The cash resgister was found empty just a few blocks from the store. Anyone with information about the man in the photos should call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
One man was shot several times Thursday on Long Shadow Lane.
Richland County deputies are looking for four men in connection with a shooting Thursday afternoon in a neighborhood near Decker Boulevard. A 21-year-old man was shot several times in the upper body just after 5 p.m. in the 2200 block of Long Shadow Lane, according to the sheriff's department. The victim was in serious condition when he was transported to Palmetto Health Richland. The victim was walking on Faraway Drive and was being followed by four men, according to the sheriff's department. When he turned onto Long Shadow Lane, the four men assaulted him and one of those men shot him. They stole his money and backpack and fled on foot. A judge ruled that the man is not allowed have contact with animals, according to The State.
A 43-year-old Richland County man pleaded guilty Thursday to having sex with a woman's dog, according to a report in The State. Allan Wayne Bush II was given a three-year suspended sentence, according to the report. He will also be required to do 150 hours of community service and will be subject to check-ups from a probation officer to make sure he's not living with animals. Bush is accused of having sex with a Pekingese dog in February 2012, according to The State. At that time, Bush was living with the woman who owned the dog. Read more from The State.
Deputies are looking for the people responsible for shooting at the house.
Richland County deputies are investigating after shots were fired into a Columbia home Wednesday night. Deputies say a car drove by a house on Ferrell Drive off Two Notch Road around 10 p.m. and someone in the car fired shots into the house. No one was injured. A man accused of rummaging through a home in the St. Andrews area on Christmas Day was arrested Wednesday. James Walter Brown III, 26, is charged with burglary, petit larceny and malicious injury to real property. Deputies say he broke into a home on Haymarket Road around 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 25, ate food from the kitchen cabinets and regrigerator, turned on a shower in the home and turned on TVs throughout the house. Two residents who were home while Brown was there hid, according to the sheriff's department. Brown ran out of the back door when a third resident returned home. Deputies arrested Brown just after midnight Wednesday on Decker Boulevard. He is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detetion Center on a surety bond of $12,000.

Richland County deputies are looking for a man they say broke into a home in the St. Andrews area, ate food from the refrigerator and cabinets and turned on TVs and a shower in the house. James Walker Brown III, 26, is wanted on charges of burglary, petit larceny and malicious injury to real property. Deputies say Brown broke into a home at 2715 Haymarket Road around 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 25 by breaking a rear glass door panel. Two people who were in the house at the time hid. Brown rummaged through the refrigerator and kitchen cabinets and ate food, according to the sheriff's department. He also turned on a shower in a rear bedroom and TVs. Deputies are looking for a 29-year-old man they say stole the electronics and sold them at a pawn shop.
Richland County deputies are looking for a man they say stole more than $800 in electronics from an apartment in the St. Andrews area. Antonio Thomas, 29, is wanted on charges of burglary, petit larceny and obtaining goods under false pretenses. Deputies say Thomas broke into an apartment at 1800 Longcreek Drive between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Jan. 14 and took a laptop, an Xbox gaming system, a Microsoft Kinect, a Michael Jackson game, a Madden 13 game, a racing game, a Kinect Adventure game and a remote control hand-held gaming device with a headset. The shooting happened on Hilo Street off Leesburg Road Thursday night.
Richland County deputies are investigating a drive-by shooting that left one person injured Thursday night. Deputies say two groups of people got into an argument around 11 p.m. on Hilo Street off Leesburg Road. Two of the people then left the area in what deputies say was possibly a creme-colored Mitsubishi Galant. They drove back by a few minutes later and fired shots. One of the bullets grazed a man. He was treated by EMS for non-life-threatening injuries. Bullets also struck two vehicles and a trash can.

Richland County deputies are looking for two men who robbed another man Sunday night in the parking lot of Rush's on Broad River Road. The victim told deputies that two men approached him just before 10 p.m. One of the men hit him in the head with a weapon and knocked him unconcious. When the victim woke up, his wallet was missing, deputies say. The victim was unable to provide descriptions of the two men. Richland County deputies arrested two teens early Friday morning who they say broke into a business near Bluff Road and stole electronics and tools. Christopher Lee Irick, 18, and Kristopher Shultz, 19, are both charged with burglary and larceny. Deputies say the two cut the locks on gates at the back of Carolina Rims and Wheels at 1550 Old Dairy Drive around 2:15 a.m. They also kicked in a front window of the business, deputies say. The damage to the business was estimated at $725. They also took an HP mini computer, an HP Compaq Mini computer, a powertool wrench and a set of 10 War-Lok air brake locks.
