VIDEO: Suspect Sought in 3rd Zaxby's Robbery

This could be in connection to two earlier armed robberies at area Zaxby's.

For the third time in less than a month, a man pretended to place an order at an area Zaxby's before presenting a handgun and stealing money from the cash register, a sheriff's office press release stated. This time it was the restaurant on Sams Crossing Drive.  Around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, a suspect was caught on surveillance attempting the same order-then-rob scheme at Zaxby's. The suspect is a black male wearing dark pants and a dark hoodie with a white t-shirt. He left in an older black Honda. It is unclear if the same man committed all three armed robberies.  A $1,000 reward is being offered for information about these robberies. How to Protect Yourself and Your Business from Robbery

October is crime prevention month in Richland County, so deputies are issuing a list of crime preventing tips.

The Richland County Sheriff's Office offers these tips to avoid getting robbed.  Before you go out, be sure to practice being aware of your surroundings and carry a camera in case anything does happen. To prevent robberies in your workplace, limit access to work areas, have alternate staff exits, have a procedure to report problems, control electronic access, have silent alarms, video cameras and metal detectors and report suspicious activity.  In the event you are robbed, be sure to assure the criminal that you will give them what they want. Announce your movements and be passive. Afterwards, lock the doors, call 911 or sound the alarm and ask customers to stay.  Report all suspicious activities to the proper officials.
